Fractional Laser skin treatment

Palomar Icon Laser

Aesthetic Solutions offers fractional skin resurfacing using the Palomar Icon 1540 laser that delivers high-precision light to the skin deep into the dermis. The concentrated microbeams of light create narrow, deep columns of skin coagulation in the treated area. These columns are surrounded by healthy skin which then repairs the area of the treated tissue promoting new collagen and elastin production revealing new and healthy looking skin.

Because this laser delivers microbeams of light to only a fraction of the skin’s area being treated the skin is able to heal quicker and lowering the chance of complications or side effects post-procedure. The Palomar Icon 1540 is a fractionated non-ablative laser which by definition means it does not remove or impact the top layer of the skin while treating the targeted deeper tissue region underneath it.

Palomar Icon 1540 laser is effective for skin tightening and reducing fine lines, wrinkles and skin texture in addition to treating scars and stretch marks anywhere on the face or body.

Fractional Laser

Rejuvenate Skin

After delivering concentrated heat deep into the dermis, the surrounding area is left to heal itself, a natural process initiating new elastin and collagen production. This treatment improves the overall skin tone and texture as well as helping to add more volume to the skin.

Treat Stretch Marks

Fractional lasers are excellent for treating stretch marks (striae) as they tighten the skin and reduce collagen around the area. It should be noted that in most cases 5 or 6 treatments are necessary for best results when treating stretch marks.

Fractional Laser Benefits

Skin resurfacing rejuvenation can improve:

Fractional Laser Treatment

Improved overall skin tone and texture

Fractional lasers treat fractionated areas of the skin, so it’s typical most treatments require 3 to 5 sessions for best results, with rest intervals to allow the skin to heal. Once the skin has completely healed and the collagen and elastin volume increases optimal results will be noticeably visible. This healing process can take up to 3 months.

During treatment discomfort is greatly reduced as the laser hand-piece features contact cooling, regulating temperature to 5° Celsius for enhanced comfort and skin protection. Topical numbing may also be used to minimize discomfort during treatment.

Post-treatment patients will experience mild skin sensitivity including some minor swelling for approximately a 24 hour period. Skin moisturizers are recommended if the skin becomes dry and itchy.

Treatment Expectations for Acne Scars and Stretch Marks

Acne

Acne inflamed infections over a sustained period of time degenerates the surrounding skin and causes variable scarring that can result in deep or faint scarring. Fractionated lasers can be an excellent option for acne scars which were difficult to treat with the limited options available prior to technologically advanced laser treatment.

The goal for acne scarring is to visibly improve the affected area by reducing the depression in the skin and increasing the volume of the surrounding area of the scar. Your skin will appear smoother with less pockets of skin depression, however, it is not possible to completely eliminate deep scars caused by acne. You should see enhanced improvement with the tissue and scarred areas with the results from acne treatment with the fractional laser.

Stretch Marks

Build up and repair the damaged tissue cells & improve your overall appearance

Stretch marks are one of the most common types of skin lesion and can affect both men and women although it is more associated with pregnancy. When the skin’s collagen breaks down, most often due to weight gain or weight loss, it stretches the skin damaging the connective tissue cells. Fractionated laser treatment is very effective for stimulating the cells in the skin beneath the stretch mark to build up and repair the damaged tissue cells while stimulating new collagen growth, improving the overall appearance.

It is not possible to completely reverse the effects caused by stretch marks but laser treatment can greatly enhance the look for this type of skin lesion.
