Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser Skin Resurfacing, also known as Micro Laser Peel, sets a new standard for laser skin peels by allowing our Physicians to precisely vary the depth and the effect of the laser treatment to your skin.
The laser beam is delivered through a Computer-controlled device that automatically scans the area of skin being treated, removing thin layers of your skin’s surface for replacement by younger, healthier skin growth. Treatment depth can vary from 20 – 120 microns, resulting in softening of wrinkles, removing of age spots, improving pigmentation to deep scars, and birthmark removal.
Your healing time will depend upon the depth of your treatment; you may experience erythems (redness) which will last several days, then fading to pink within a week. Patients notice smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin almost immediately after the procedure.
Laser Treatment of Veins & Redness
Using infrared energy, our physician is able to precisely treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions and discoloration of your skin.
A laser beam will be delivered to the area of your skin being treated. You may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are preferentially absorbed in the unwanted vessels, heating and destroying them. Most small capillaries will become invisible almost immediately since they will no longer contain blood flow.
There is virtually no downtime, and you may resume activities immediately. In some cases, repeat treatments may be necessary.
High Speed Hair Removal
The Sciton hair removal system has many advantages; it is regarded as the fastest and least painful hair removal system on the market, and has the ability to treat large areas, i.e. legs, back, and chest, fast and efficiently.
Patient comfort is achieved due to the large chiller plate attached to the Sciton scanner which effectively cools the epidermis and dramatically reduces the pain and discomfort associated with laser hair removal.
The Sciton can treat all skin types, and because of the relatively low absorption of the light by melanin, it is the best choice when treating darker skin types. Unlike many other laser processes, the laser beam treats much hair at once, making treatment of large areas practical. The unique computer-guided scanning system automates the treatment, ensuring that your skin is rapidly and evenly treated. The computer sets the parameters and places the beam in an optimum pattern for your skin to ensure a safe, fact, effective and gentle treatment.
Depending on the areas being treated, you may need to be treated from 4 to 6 times at intervals of 3 to 8 weeks. There are three phases of hair growth – anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated.
